About Everbranch
You type a premise. A model builds a seed from it: a setting, a cast, an opening scene. Then you play that seed turn by turn, writing what you do next, until the story reaches an ending.
Why it ends
The usual failure of AI interactive fiction is that it meanders and never concludes. Everbranch chooses a length when you start and steers toward it: four beats, a ledger of unresolved threads, and directives that push toward closing them. You can also take the wheel: skip ahead, force a complication, begin the ending, or end it now.
Why finished branches are free to read
A finished branch can be published for anyone to read, with no account and no paywall. That is deliberate. Playing costs money because generation costs money; reading costs nothing because a branch nobody can read is not worth writing.
What it costs
Credits, bought once and spent. No subscription, no monthly reset, nothing that renews while you are not looking. Credits do not expire. See credits.
